I just got back from hanging out with two of my “besties” (that is horrible girl slang for best friends) in Vermont. Liese, Megan and I hung out at Liese’s family camp on Lake Dunmore for a few days, where we mostly did this:

We did go for an awesome hike, which made me look extra ugs as I was sweaty and spent most of the time trying to kill deer flies:

Vermont is one of my favorite places on the planet. I love the trees, the mountains, the smelly hippies, the beer, the cheese, the cow shit…it’s seriously the best.
The three of us ran 6.4 miles on Saturday - my endurance run for the week. We did it all in 72 minutes, and if my calculations are correct, this means I ran an 11.25 minute mile. For me, this is amazing! I could be doing my math wrong, but let’s pretend I am not so I can feel excited and proud! Regardless, it was a really fun run - I love getting to spend time with my friends and it was an amazing change of scenery from my usual run in NYC. There were lots of cows, hills and green, whereas in NYC, there’s usually a sprinkling of drag queens, concrete, and the smell of dead fish. Not that the former is better than the latter - just different.
Also, Liese and Megan are both running the Half-Marathon with me in October - so get used to to their names and faces around here! They’re hot - see:
